|Tsun-ma KHEYCHOK PALMO
Khyechok Palmo is a famous umzay (chant leader) in the monastic tradition of Karma Drubdey Palmo Choskyi Dingkhang monastery in Bhutan. Umzay means "the first to do", but in this sense, it refers to "those who lead the chants", guiding the other monastic and lay devotees in the recitations. She will give us an insight into monastic life of a nunnery and will lead some precious chants. She explained for a Kagyü Mönlam: "It was His Holiness' vision for us all to learn the new melodies that he composed." She agreed among other nuns that since they are able to serve His Holiness, it gives them joy to be leading chants. Before they begin any prayers, they make offerings and prayers for His Holiness and their gurus and request, "May it be a seed for all sentient beings to attain enlightenment."
